In 2014 I collaborated with a new comic book publisher named Blind Ferret to produce Sun of Suns, Vol. 1.  This volume collects the first episodes of the story.  You'll meet all the main characters here:  Hayden Griffin, our sullen hero; Lady Venera Fanning, mad princess, and spymaster; Martor the ship's go-fer, and even the pirate Dentius and his men.

The script for this excellent adaptation is by Jeff Moss, the ink's by Guy Allen, and colour by Michael Birkhofer.

Sadly, the project ended before we could complete the novel’s plot arc. Still, what's here is amazing, and lots of fun. The reviews were great:  check out this one at Comics Bulletin, or this one at Inter-comics.

Although the project was technically never finished, we produced a huge amount of material; Virga's a world rife with visual possibilities so there are surprises on almost every page.

Guy and Michael did a fantastic job bringing Jeff's excellent script to life.  The depth and colour rivals anything I've seen, and while these images are stunning they come at you rapid-fire, as the plot hurtles forward.

This was an amazing project and I had great fun working with such talented artists to bring my visions of Virga to life.
